New to Homeschooling in AZ?

Parents of homeschooled students ages 6-16 are required to file a notarized Affidavit of Intent to Homeschool with the County School Superintendent within 30 days of starting to homeschool.

STEPS TO GET STARTED:

  1. Print the Affidavit of Intent to Homeschool form. This can also be found on your county website, or at the AFHE  link here.
  2. Obtain an official copy of your child’s Birth Certificate
  3. Locate your county superintendent
  4. Get the affidavit notarized and make a copy
  5. Submit affidavit and birth certificate either via mail or in person
  6. Read all the AZ Homeschooling laws carefully.  Homeschooling in Arizona is much different (and, most of the time, much easier) than homeschooling in other states.

** NOTE:  If you choose to use ESA funds, you do not file an affidavit since "ESA" is a different category.
